Starting from Albuquerque we plan to visit Acoma Pueblo and then Chaco Canyon the next day. Would it make more sense to spend the night between in Grants or Cuba?
Or somewhere else
Thanks
Acoma %26amp; Chaco Canyon: Where to stay?
Grants. Not much for lodging in Cuba. It%26#39;s also not easy to get from Acoma to Cuba except via Albuquerque.
There%26#39;s also a decent hotel that%26#39;s attached to the casino on I-40 near Acoma, but it seems to get bad reviews.

Acoma %26amp; Chaco Canyon: Where to stay?So would it make more sense to just stay in Albuquerque?
The road into Chaco Canyon from US550 (Bernalillo to Bloomfield) is better than the southern entrance. You don%26#39;t say ';when'; you plan to visit Acoma, and Chaco. Although better, in bad weather, the northern entrance is still mostly 25 miles of dirt/clay and can get pretty dicey if not dry. The roads once inside Chaco Culture National Historic Park are paved. You%26#39;d just need to be more cautious in Winter than Summer.
Since you would be starting from Albuquerque, as I do, I%26#39;d strongly suggest you take in Acoma Pueblo, then return to Albuquerque to enjoy our historic Old Town, adjacent museums, the Inidan Pueblo Cultural Center, etc. From Albuquerque the following day, it is about 3 1/2 hours into Chaco via US550, and the above described entrance road. Plan to stay at least four hours if you really want to see all the ruins in the canyon close up. That evening, you could return to Albuquerque...or if going on up to the Durango area of SW Colorado, stay in Bloomfield, Aztec, or Durango after your Chaco visit. US550 north of Durango is some of the most beautiful scenery in the Rockies. You are also close to Mesa Verde National Park...and would pass by Aztec National Monument in Aztec, NM.
Let us know if you need more ';details.';
