Any casinos within 25 mile radius? Fun, good paying??
What are the medical facilities like in Las Cruces or do you have to drive to El Paso?
What one thing would make me want to snowbird there rather than some other spot?
Thanks,
Maria
Some other questions about Las Cruces .....
1. I%26#39;m far from expert on the subject, but I think the nearest casino would be in Ruidoso, over 100 miles away. There might be something in Texas, but I haven%26#39;t heard of it.
2. Medical facilities in Las Cruces are OK, but Thomason General in El Paso is well-known; here in Silver City, a two-hour drive from Las Cruces, medevac goes to Thomason instead of any hoispitals in LC.
3. As for choosing LC over somewhere else, I%26#39;ll leave that to folks with more knowledge of the town.
Some other questions about Las Cruces .....
The closest casino is at Sunland Park, on the NM side of the border near El Paso - approximately 40 miles away.
Medical facilities for a city its size are adequate, and as previously mentioned, El Paso hospitals are close by.
Las Cruces may or may not be for you, depending on your preferences. You won%26#39;t find much snow, but can still be cold during the winter. It drops below freezing many winter nights.
Here are answers to some of your questions.
There is a casino about 17 miles from Las Cruces. It has all slots, 2 blackjack tables that are video, not sure about good paying.
There are 2 hospitals in Las Cruces. I have not had to use either one, thank goodness, but have not heard bad about either one.
There are many things to do in the area, plus Las Cruces is kind of centered for other places in New Mexico as well. There are museums, sports games, nice farmers markets, Mexico within an hour, Carlsbad caverns not far away, skiiing close enough to drive easily. There is also a casino that has slots, blackjack live tables, buffet, craps, etc, within about an hour and one half.
I hope this helps.
