Puye Cliff Dwellings reopening...

Just read online that the Santa Clara Pueblo will be reopening Puye Cliff Dwellings for tours this May. There will be guided tours, but no self guided trips. They have been closed since the big fire in 2000.

Thanks for the info...I%26#39;m going to put this on my to see list...Do you know how much of a hike it is to get to the Cliff Dwellings?

The Pueblo is offering small groups of up to ten guided tours for $25 per person at this time.

The official public reopening which will include self-guided entry is scheduled for May but the press release didn%26#39;t mention what the entry fee will be.

I would imagine it will be substantially lower than the guided tour fee.

FWIW, judging from the photos in the news story, this place is amazing and on a par with the ruins seen at Bandelier.

I can%26#39;t wait to go and having this spectacular cultural and historically significant just minutes from my door makes this ruins admirer very happy.

When Puye reopens, you will purchase tickets, enter the park on your own and take a guided tour, no walking around where ever you want like at Bandelier Nat Mon. This is to protect the ruins, artifacts as well as to educate visitors.

Wonderful place to visit, I%26#39;m looking forward to revisiting.

Here%26#39;s their website www.puyecliffs.com watch there for more information.
