Places to stay in Santa Fe walking distance to the Plaza!!!

We are planning a trip to Santa Fe the week before and including Labor Day weekend 2009 and looking for some suggestions for places to stay walking distance to the Plaza. We are looking for a place that might have a balcony or courtyard in the price range of $150 to $175.00 per night if possible. Clean and does not have to be fancy.

Thanks for the suggestions.

There are a number of places near the Plaza that could be in your price range. Check with Inn of the Governors, Garritts Desert Inn, Hotel Santa Fe, Hotel St Francis. Also quite a few B%26amp;B%26#39;s that may also work. Check on www.santafe.org for ideas.

Lary--you may have prob%26#39;s finding lodging close to the Plaza for a holiday wkend at the rate you%26#39;ve quoted--esp. with the additional (more costly) balcony/patio amenity. Santa Fe is not inexpensive and from my experience I would say that a range of $200-$275+ would be more reasonable. But there are lots of places to choose from and you may get lucky! Also depends upon how the economy is doing by summer%26#39;s end!!

I will not make any recommendations, but I%26#39;ll suggest a reminder to check out TripAdvisor.com%26#39;s Santa Fe hotel(or B%26amp;B) reviews, and prices, posted by previous guests.

Click ';Santa Fe Hotels'; on the Santa Fe Forum page. We all appreciate their contributions. You can%26#39;t do better than ';first hand'; information after all.

I%26#39;d check out the B%26amp;B%26#39;s in the downtown area. Lots more personality than a cookie cutter hotel. Some have hot tubs and mountain views too. I stayed at Casa de la Cuma recently and loved it.

We stayed at the Don Gaspar Inn (a B%26amp;B) which was maybe 3-4 blocks from the Plaza. The Territorial Suite was fabulous. The walk didn%26#39;t bother us a bit and actually was a nice way to work off some of the food we ate. :)
