Can anyone recommend a resale / consignment store in Santa Fe...I love shopping at resale stores - but cannot find anything on the internet. With all of the beautiful jewelry / clothes in Santa Fe - I was hoping to find one.
Resale / consignment stores in Santa Fe
Dear rcb,
Here%26#39;s a very large one. I thought the prices were way too high though....but it%26#39;s a fun place to shop around.
DoubleTake
321 South Guadalupe Street
989-8886
In 1986, Suzanne Wissman opened a small children鈥檚 consignment shop in a tiny piece of the old Coca Cola building. Twenty years later, that shop has ballooned to include almost the entire block. DoubleTake now features five shops within the larger store, including departments for vintage; adult fashions; children鈥檚 clothes and accessories; housewares and furniture; and Western wear. DoubleTake recently annexed its neighbor, Santa Fe Pottery, adding its eclectic and unique art to its inventory.

Double Take is CRAZY expensive.
There are several thrift stores in SF that do get some pretty high quality donations. I%26#39;ve found clothes, seen some nice jewelery and gotten some great deals on antiques at:
Salvation Army 1220 Camino Carlos Rey
St. Vincent De Paul 1088 Early St. ( they have weird hours)
Open Hands 851 San Mateo ( this is near Chocolate Maven so we usually combine the thrift store visit with some kind of yummy indulgence )
Of course, they are all hit or miss but it%26#39;s fun to look for bargains.
You might also check the local paper for weekend estate sales...those are great, too.
karma,
Open Hands has moved and is now located on Cerrillos Road next to the Pantry Restaurant.
Much smaller space, far less selection and no dressing rooms.
While there shopping with my wife, in a half hour%26#39;s time, I saw at least two women returning slacks or jeans because they didn%26#39;t fit.
Thanks for your helpful suggesstions - I cannot wait to try these next week while I am in Santa Fe.
