So this is the Las Vegas, NEW MEXICO forum...

Fancy that -- there%26#39;s a Las Vegas in Nevada, too! That Vegas gets a lot more press, but this Vegas, lovely Las Vegas, NEW MEXICO, has its own claim to fame: unbelievably patient and friendly destination experts who not only provide great advice on Las Vegas, NM, but who also cheerfully direct countless lost travelers to the Las Vegas, Nevada forum: …tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g45963-i10-Las_Ve…

That so many people mistake this forum for that other one is really amazing to me. That all of you here have managed to keep your sanity amidst this incessant geographical confusion is even more impressive. That you%26#39;ve all been so consistently helpful and good-natured about it is a real credit to you, and we really do appreciate you taking on this often thankless task.

While we may never be able to clear up this confusion completely, I%26#39;m very pleased to announce that we now have the ability to move threads from one destination forum to another, a nifty feature that will probably have more impact here on the LVNM forum than on any other TripAdvisor forum.

From now on, if someone posts a question that should be on the Las Vegas, NV forum, please send us an e-mail by using the ';Contact Us'; link on tripadvisor.com/help/are_the_forums_managed_…

When we receive your e-mail, we%26#39;ll find the misplaced thread on this forum and move it to the correct forum as soon as possible. We hope this will be much easier than giving directions to lost souls, and in time only Las Vegas, NM topics will appear on the topic list, which should further reduce the potential for future mix-ups.

If you find it easier to send a PM instead, that%26#39;s fine, too. It may sometimes take us a little longer to get to an inquiry made by PM, but if you PM me or any other TripAdvisor staff member, we%26#39;ll take care of the move as soon as we get your message.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks again for your patience and helpful advice, and thanks so much for sharing your expertise with travelers here on TripAdvisor!

Dan

Bless you my son, bless you!

Oh, darn ;) what will I do when I need a chuckle?

Thank you Dan!

It must be daunting to have the powers of a God to bring us hope of change, and help in directing lost souls seeking Sin City, to the proper state! Maybe you would know...if ';our'; lost souls on the Las Vegas, NM Forum, get lost in Vegas...do they go directly to the Death Valley Forum?

Unfortunately, I lost my sanity long ago, so that is why my responses have so many typos, and ';Oops!'; in them. Thanks for your concern though. It%26#39;s nice knowing that T/A cares about more than just travel, and vacations. People too! :-)

Thanks for the help! Las Vegas NM is a fun, small town with a few nice places to dine, and a small university. No casinos, but it would be cool if there was one and we could ride the train from Santa Fe to Las Vegas NM for the night to gamble, lol!!!

If you live in New Mexico, you soon become used to lots of confusion. When I was visiting family in Denver and had to show my NM driver%26#39;s license at a mall the clerk was amazed that I could speak English so well coming from Mexico. There is an ongoing humor column in the New Mexico magazine called ';One of Our 50 is Missing'; - http://www.nmmagazine.com/50missing.php is the link. Thank you to the TA staff for helping at least to locate Las Vegas.
