las cruces vacation rental neighborhood?

I am looking into vacation rentals in las cruces. Can someone comment on the Sonoma Ranch area? My other option is Mesilla. Are they both quiet and safe? How far from the interstates? Any other suggestions are appreciated Thanks

Sonoma Ranch is new, and a little more isolated, closer to the mountains, so it%26#39;s a bit hillier and (to an extent) prettier. It%26#39;s also kind of a cookie-cutter subdivision, whereas Mesilla is mostly large acreage.

Mesilla is a lot of agriculture and has a wonderful town center. Very historic. I think it%26#39;s very pretty and comfortable down there as well, and usually spend my time there while in Cruces.

Both should be equally safe. Mesilla may be a little less quiet. It depends on exactly where in Mesilla because there are areas that are busier than others.

I-10 is a mile or so from the Mesilla Plaza. I-25 is a mile or so from the middle of Sonoma Ranch.
