Santa Fe has a base of 50+ inches, with 95% of it%26#39;s runs open. We are expecting more snow in the Northern Ski Areas on Thursday/Friday. Probably 6-10';.

You can rent all the equipment you need at the Santa Fe Ski Area. For maximum choices, you%26#39;d want to be up there fairly early though, especially on weekends.

It%26#39;s cold though! Temps are staying low enough at night (low 20%26#39;s) to maintain the base snow, and retain any new moisture as powder.

The road up to the Santa Fe Ski Area is well maintained, so you shouldn%26#39;t have to ';trash'; your car. As far as hotel shuttles to the ski area, I do not have that information at my fingertips. I would ask your selected hotel for shuttle facts.

As for value in your hotel selections, I do not know what price range you are considering. I%26#39;ll include the website for Santa Fe hotels, so you may compare them. Perhaps one of our Santa Fe Experts will post, and they will have better insight into good deals.

Have a safe trip, and safe skiing.

Many thanks for your opinions. Very helpful.

Do you think letting the kids learn at Santa Fe a couple days and then move to Taos makes sense? I know is far steeper, but maybe more exciting for them too.

Whichever places you go to, you%26#39;ll have some good fresh snow as the higher elevations are getting a very healthy dumping today and tomorrow.

Either place has plenty of beginner terrain for the kids.

I learned to ski on Santa Fe mountain. Great ski school. Did not have the greatest experience with the Taos ski school. Ive been coming to Santa Fe Mtn for over 16 years now and I love it every time. Great mountain, plenty to do.

If you are looking to rent either ski or snowboard equipment, yes there are rentals on the mountain however spring break is usually very busy for them and you might save some time renting from The Alpine Shop in town has great equipment.

As far as shuttles go, I dont believe there are any that take you all the way up the mountain. Like someone said earlier the road is very well maintained, it is paved all the way to the bottom of the lift and there are shuttles that take you from the lower parking lots to the ticket window.

I have always stayed with relatives but one year for a family reunion they were unable to accommodate us all so we stayed at
