We are planning a two week fly-drive from London, UK, in May on a circular route around Arizona and New Mexico starting from Phoenix.

We would like to chill out for a couple of days in Taos as a break from driving and are looking for a modest place to rent for 3 or 4 nights.

Just the two of us so one bedroom will do us quite well.

There are a couple of agencies on google but does anyone know whether we can book direct with someone, please?

We are looking at a place about 6 miles north of Taos at the moment which seems suitable for our needs. I presume we could drop back into Taos and park fairly easily for shopping and restaurants?

Six miles north of Taos sounds like a perfect location.

There are some great restaurants (Old Blinking Light, Orlandos, El Meze, Sushi a Hatori, Guadalajara Grill). Also The Millicent Rogers Museum, a wonderful place to shop for food (Cids), and if you are looking for some real quiet time with great scenic beauty you are that much closer to the Wild Rivers Recrearion Area as well as Taos Ski Valley.

Thank you, it%26#39;s great to have a local confirmation. We%26#39;re going to add on an extra day in Taos as our visit will coincide with the 7th Annual Folk Life Festival ~ ';A Free Community Day Event'; at the museum on 16th May which might be interesting for us visitors from England.
