Dollar Car Rental - out of business

I reserved a car on-line through Dollar about 6 weeks ago. When I arrived at the airport on Feb 23rd, I discovered that Dollar had gone out of business the day before. Fortunately Dollar had arranged with Thrifty to handle the bookings. I never received notification from Dollar that they shut down. No doubt they are no longer accepting reservations but you might have made the arrangements awhile back.

Thank you for that information. Unfortunately for all of us, these occurances are happening all too frequently at present.

It would therefore be a good general rule to check all of your bookings two or three times before your departure date arrives. When it happens the day before you arrive however, that will always be an unpleasant surprise.

I wonder if I should make new rental reservations or did you make out okay with Thrifty? Did they honor the Dollar price and how were the cars.

I just checked around this morning; Budget, Enterprise, Thrifty are all still in business, and pretty much the same rates.

I also checked around but the prices aren%26#39;t the same as what I currently have a reservation for.

So that%26#39;s why I%26#39;m wonder if the other that they send you to is honoring the price you originally got from Dollar.
