It looks as if we could fly into ABQ, catch a bus to Railrunner station, take train to Santa Fe next year. What%26#39;s the catch? This sounds like real public transportation!!
Railrunner to SF
Yes it is true! The Rainrunner hopefully will begin runs to Santa Fe in December. The schedule has not been finalized, but from what I have read, there will be plenty of trips during the day.
Once you are in Santa Fe you can take our city bus to many areas of town.
Railrunner to SF
Just have to post that I saw my first Rainrunner Train today, on the tracks just outside of Santa Fe. They were testing the tracks/train and this weekend there will be an event for people to see the train cars.
I took the Railrunner from Albuquerque to Santa Fe Christmas weekend and it was great.
What a wonderful way to travel. We took the 4:30 p.m train back from SF and could see the sun setting throughout snow-covered NM.
Not only that, but once you%26#39;re up in Santa Fe there is a shuttle that will take you to downtown, Canyon Road, and the railyard area!
We are planning to visit Santa Fe in early April and I have been researching on the net regarding way to get from ABQ. How long will the trip take from ABQ airport to SF plaza area? Which hotel would you recommend around the plaza? Or is there another area that%26#39;s better
From Abq airport to Santa Fe Plaza will take about an hour if driving yourself. Not sure how long a shuttle will take, depends on how many stops it has to make. If you take the bus to the Railrunner Station and then take the train, probably 2 hours as the train takes 1.5 hours.
There are a number of places near the plaza to stay. Hotels and B%26amp;B%26#39;s. Look at La Fonda, Eldorado Hotel, Inn of the Governors, St. Francis. Check www.santafe.org for more info.
